
Rescue and assistance tasks in the areas most affected by the severe weather in Bahía Blanca are ongoing. The municipality of Bahía Blanca, in collaboration with the province of Buenos Aires, the Federal Security Forces, the Navy, and the Argentine Army are working together to help thousands of neighbors affected by the damage caused by the flooding.
The towns of General Daniel Cerri and Ingeniero White were the hardest hit by the rising water. Given the seriousness of the situation, educational authorities decided to suspend classes for Monday and Tuesday. According to the Contingency Committee, in Ingeniero White, the water is starting to drain gradually, and in Daniel Cerri, the water level has almost completely decreased.
The electricity supply company, EDES, has managed to restore service for 40% of users, but there are still areas such as Cerri, White, Napostá neighborhood, Tiro Federal, Bella Vista, and part of Villa Mitre that remain without electricity. On the other hand, Aguas Bonaerenses (ABSA) has set up a support line for consortia and buildings affected by power outages to request assistance in the operation of the lifting pumps.
Regarding the roads, some sections are still closed or have restricted traffic due to the damage caused by the rains. Authorities recommend avoiding travel on affected routes and exercising caution on passable ones.
The tragedy in Bahía Blanca has left a toll of 15 dead so far, with people still missing, according to official sources. As the rescue operation continues, the community remains on edge, hoping to find the missing and beginning the reconstruction of the city after the devastation caused by the severe weather.
